On Friday the 30th of May, Student Society "Christiaan Huygens" held a final, lasting event to mark the 50th anniversary it celebrated last year, a 2.70 mtr. tall statue of 17th century scientist Christiaan Huygens, froged by scuptor Martin Abspoel , was donated to the TU delft to be placed in the new Mekelpark, Delft.
Dean Professor Lenstra accepted the gift on behalf of the TU delft and the faculty EEMCS.
The Christiaan Huygens Foundation was officially founded on the same day.
